Tersus Environmental Granted U.S. Patent for Heat Enhanced Reductive Bioremediation
Tersus Environmental has been granted U.S. Patent No. 12,753,344, Method for Heat Enhanced Reductive Bioremediation, issued October 6, 2026.
The patent names Gary M. Birk, David F. Alden, John Sankey, and Guilherme Mascalchi de Figueiredo as inventors. The patented method addresses the use of heat in combination with enhanced reductive bioremediation to improve treatment conditions for contaminated soil and groundwater.
The technology is associated with Tersus Environmental’s EDS-Advanced™ approach for heat-enhanced in situ remediation. By combining elevated temperature with reductive treatment processes, the approach is intended to improve amendment performance and accelerate treatment under site conditions where temperature can influence reaction rates and biological activity.
U.S. Patent No. 12,753,344 adds to Tersus Environmental’s intellectual property related to in situ remediation technologies and supports the continued development of EDS-Advanced™ for challenging remediation applications.
